Sixth Form College Visit

June 2025

On Monday 23rd June, Year 10 pupils had the opportunity to visit Birkenhead Sixth Form College and experience college life for the day. They attended some taster lessons as well including Art Graphics, Law, Psychology and also a Tutorial session. Pupils behaviour was excellent and they enjoyed the day!

Visits to Post-16 providers Wirral Met

June 2025

On Thursday 10th June over 70 Year 10 Pupils attended a taster day at Wirral Met where they had the opportunity to experience a variety of courses offered at the College and experience College life. Pupils were able to choose from Animal Care, Engineering, Art, Health and Social, Military Training, Sport, Travel and Tourism and Culinary Arts. Pupils were thoroughly engaged and behaved exceptionally well over the course of the day. College Tutors all remarked to staff how well pupils had done and that “they are a credit to the school.”
Well done Year 10!

Magdalene College Event at St Georges Hall

March 2025

We were lucky enough to be able to take some of our Year 10 pupils to the Magdalene College Event at St Georges Hall in Liverpool. We heard about University life at Cambridge University and attended two taster lectures. Pupils had the opportunity afterwards to speak to lecturers and students from Cambridge University.

BBC Bitesize Careers Roadshow

October 2024

We were lucky enough to have the BBC Bitesize Careers Roadshow visit us on 9th October and they were able to present to Y8, Y9, Y10 and Y11. They brought along three panellists with them who spoke about their career pathways, how important aspirations are and also how ‘soft skills’ such as listening and leadership are important. Pupils had an opportunity to ask questions at the end and Y8 and Y9 asked some amazing questions!

SEND Preparation for Adulthood

We were able to attend the Preparation for Adulthood at the Floral Theatre in New Brighton on the 8th October and a number of our Y11 pupils came along. They were able to talk to different providers who can offer support and advice for young people up to the age of 25.
