VISITS

Woodchurch High School, a Church of England academy, has a fully planned and integrated careers education and work related learning programme.

BBC Bitesize Careers Roadshow

We were lucky enough to have the BBC Bitesize Careers Roadshow visit us on 9th October and they were able to present to Y8, Y9, Y10 and Y11. They brought along three panellists with them who spoke about their career pathways, how important aspirations are and also how ‘soft skills’ such as listening and leadership are important. Pupils had an opportunity to ask questions at the end and Y8 and Y9 asked some amazing questions!

Visits to Post-16 Providers

The school has a range of visits to post-16 providers: these include visits to:

School Sixth Forms
Colleges
Universities

In addition, besides our annual Careers Fair, a number of providers attend the school:

At Parents Evenings
To undertake whole-cohort presentations / assemblies
To hold ‘clinics’ / drop-ins etc.

More details can be found on the Careers Plan.

ALL VISITS ARE OPEN TO ALL PUPILS ON A FIRST-COME, FIRST-SERVED BASIS.

SEND Preparation for Adulthood

We were able to attend the Preparation for Adulthood at the Floral Theatre in New Brighton on the 8th October and a number of our Y11 pupils came along. They were able to talk to different providers who can offer support and advice for young people up to the age of 25.
