A MOMENT OF CALM ON THE SCHOOL FARM
Friday 12 December 2025
In the soft winter sunshine, the school farm became a place of quiet wonder. The Year 7 pupils, usually caught in the rush and noise of a busy school day, found themselves standing still—pencils in hand, breath rising gently in the crisp air. As they sketched the out buildings, the animals, and the long shadows stretching across the fields, something peaceful settled over them.
For a moment, time slowed. The simple act of drawing connected them to the earth beneath their feet and the light above their heads. The calm of the farm wrapped around them like a blessing, offering space to breathe, notice, and create. In their focused faces and quiet concentration, there was a sense of renewal – as though the sunshine itself was guiding their hands and steadying their thoughts.
In that short pause from the busyness of the day, the pupils found not just a subject to draw, but a moment of stillness for their spirits. The winter sun, the open sky, and the gentle rhythm of nature gave them something rare and precious: a chance to see beauty, to feel grounded, and to rediscover a little bit of peace.
