“Year 8 Chess Club continues to grow in numbers – Mr Woods and Mr Caine were delighted to organise our first Woodchurch Chess Congress in May, and have been delighted with the children’s commitment and good sportsmanship.

If your child would like to join, we meet every lunchtime in maths 8, and we use chess.com as part of our Covid precautions in order to minimise any risks.. All levels of ability are welcome, from Grandmasters to anyone who just fancies moving the horsey and the priest pieces around the grid for the first time – if you’re more like the latter, then we promise to also teach you the correct names for all of the pieces.
