BENCHMARKS AND TRACKERS

Woodchurch High School, a Church of England academy, has a fully planned and integrated careers education and work related learning programme.

Gatsby Benchmarks

The Gatsby benchmark were designed to support and enable schools to develop an effective Careers Education and Guidance Programme. These benchmarks are:

  • A stable careers programme
  • Learning from career and labour market information
  • Addressing the needs of each pupil
  • Linking curriculum learning to careers
  • Encounters with employers and employees
  • Experiences of workplaces
  • Encounters with further and higher education
  • Personal guidance

For more information, please see this document:

School seeks to use these benchmarks as a tool to constantly review, develop and enhance its provision. Periodically, a self-assessment tool is completed, with the school being ‘graded’ against the above criteria. Our latest self-assessment can be found below:

Note – these are completed with a member of the Liverpool City Region Careers Hub present, who validates and scrutinises the enteries.
