VISIT TO SCHOOL BY THE LORD ARCHBISHOP OF YORK

Friday 21st June 2024

On Friday 21 June 2024, we were delighted to welcome His Grace, The Lord Archbishop of York, the Rt Rev and Rt Hon Stephen Cottrell to school. He was accompanied by the Rt Rev Mark Tanner, Bishop of Chester.

The purpose of the visit was to see the school in action and meet some of our pupils.

The visit began with the Archbishop meeting our Headteacher, Mr Martyn Canham, and other key staff members. After a buffet lunch, attended by local clergy, representatives from our Governing Body and other key stakeholders, the Archbishop met a number of our children.

This meeting consisted of the pupils asking the Archbishop various challenging questions around faith matters, the environment and Church Schools.

It was a tremendous honour that the Archbishop visited us, and we were extremely proud of our excellent pupils who were such fabulous ambassadors for the school.
