SCIENCE SNAPPED: A HALF TERM PHOTO COMPETITION

Tuesday 5 November 2024

A Visual Feast of Scientific Wonder

During the half term break, our school community was treated to a dazzling display of scientific creativity as students and staff participated in a photography competition. The challenge was simple: capture the beauty and wonder of science in a single frame.

The response was overwhelming. The submissions showcased the diverse and captivating nature of science. It was a reminder that science is not confined to the laboratory; it’s all around us, waiting to be explored and documented.

A Glimpse into the Entries

Staff Winners

1st place: Miss Blackwell – this squirrel has totally captured my heart. It needs to be the new poster animal for deforestation. He’s popped out to find some nuts and someone has chopped down his home whilst he has been out!

2nd place: Ms McDonald – giving me Super Mario vibes! Mario and Luigi can’t be far!

Joint 3rd place: Ms Wharton and Mr O’Leary – special shout out to these two for their enthusiasm with so many entries each!

A rooftop garden in Vienna and Crosby beach with wind turbines in the distance.

Connor – 1st Place – Year 7 – a bumblebee collecting pollen

Corey – 2nd place – Year 7 – sunrise over Woodchurch

Jamie – 3rd place – Year 11 – a ferocious predator restraining its prey (a spider that has caught a fly!)
