ACT OF REMEMBRANCE

Monday 11 November 2024

At Woodchurch High School, we hold a special Act of Remembrance each year to honour and remember the service and sacrifices of all those past and present who have defended our freedom and protected our way of life. Our school community gathers together to reflect on the significance of Remembrance Day, with readings, prayers, and a moment of silence. Some of our pupils also take part in a Remembrance Parade, paying their respects and coming together to reflect on our values of service, hope, and compassion.

Our Act of Remembrance is an important occasion that embodies our school’s vision of Matthew 5:16: “Let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.” Through these acts, we encourage our pupils to let their light shine in our community, carrying forward a legacy of gratitude and a deep appreciation for peace.
