Woodchurch High School is pleased to share that it is now running on cleaner energy, thanks to funding for new solar panels from Great British Energy, as part of a scheme with the UK government, which will help save money on energy bills.

Woodchurch High School is one of up to 250 schools and colleges across England to receive its share of up to £255 million in funding from Great British Energy and government to install new solar panels across school rooftops, alongside other energy efficiency measures.

Once completed, this solar installation will generate clean energy for our school while savings from energy bills will be reinvested back into pupils’ education.

This is part of the government’s 10-year plan for national renewal a decade of to transform schools and colleges across the country.
