LIVERPOOL SCHOOL IMPROVEMENT SILVER AWARD
Wednesday 13 May 2026
Woodchurch High School is delighted to announce that we have successfully achieved the Liverpool School Improvement Silver Award for Health and Wellbeing.
This recognition reflects our unwavering commitment to promoting equality, safeguarding, inclusion, and emotional wellbeing across our entire school community. The award acknowledges the significant impact of our whole-school initiatives focused on challenging misogyny, raising aspirations for girls, promoting respectful relationships, supporting vulnerable pupils, and strengthening provision for our young carers.
Over the past year, pupils and staff have worked collaboratively on a range of meaningful projects, including our Inspirational Women campaign, White Ribbon Day activities, and targeted work around Violence Against Women and Girls (VAWG). These initiatives have helped foster a culture of respect, empathy, and positive challenge, while empowering pupils to become confident, compassionate, and responsible citizens.
We are equally proud of the progress made in raising the profile of young carers within our school community. Through strengthened pastoral systems, partnership work with Barnardo’s, dedicated support networks, and increased awareness across school, our young carers are increasingly feeling recognised, supported, and valued.
Achieving the Silver Award is a testament to the dedication of our pupils, staff, trustees, parents, carers, and wider community, all of whom continue to champion our core values of compassion, humility, integrity, and inclusion.
While we celebrate this important milestone, we remain fully committed to sustaining and building upon this work to ensure that every pupil at Woodchurch High School feels safe, respected, supported, and inspired to achieve their full potential.
